Go to claude.ai

Click your profile → Settings → Connectors

Click Add custom connector

Enter the Name and paste the URL above, then save

A browser window will open — sign in and grant access to complete setup.

Use if direct connection is not available (e.g. restricted environments).
Requires Claude Desktop.

macOS installation steps

Click Download for macOS above and open the .dmg file when it finishes downloading

Drag Origin Insights MCP into the Applications folder in the window that opens

Open Origin Insights MCP from your Applications folder — not from the .dmg

If macOS says “App is damaged” or “can’t be opened” — this is a security check, not a real error. Fix it in 30 seconds:

Press Cancel on the error message. Then press Command + Space, type Terminal, press Enter. When Terminal opens, copy and paste the code below, and press enter:

xattr -cr "/Applications/Origin Insights MCP.app"

Then open the app again from Applications.

Complete the short setup wizard — it connects Claude Desktop to Origin Insights in under a minute

Windows installation steps

Click Download for Windows above — the file will start downloading. Your browser may show a brief security prompt.

If your browser flags the file — click Keep, then Keep anyway.

This is a standard browser check. It doesn’t mean the file is unsafe.

If Windows shows a blue screen saying “Windows protected your PC” — click More info, then Run anyway.

This is SmartScreen. It appears for new installers and is not a real warning.

If Windows asks to allow network access for Node.js — click Allow.

This is required for Claude to connect securely to Origin Insights.

Claude Desktop may ask you to sign in again — this is normal. Complete the sign-in in your browser to activate the connection.

Setup completes in under a minute. Start any conversation in Claude to use Origin Insights.
